Ching-Yun Du previously taught at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris (ENMP) and is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Music at National Tsing Hua University. In 1991, she was awarded the Ministry of Education’s “Gifted Student Scholarship to Study Music in France” and went to France for further studies. In 1996, she won the first prize in violin and chamber music at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, studying under Gérard Poulet, becoming the first Taiwanese student to graduate from the violin department at this prestigious institution. In 2000, she graduated with first prize in violin performance and a special jury award from the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève in Switzerland, studying under violinist and conductor Jean-Pierre Wallez. She later received the Zaleski Scholarship to study at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, where she earned the highest soloist diploma in violin and chamber music under Devy Erlih.
In 1999, she won the first prize and the audience’s choice award at the “Chausson” International Violin Competition in France. In 2000, she won the first prize at the 11th European Union Music Competition, performing at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, and was invited to participate in the Salzburg Festival. In 2008, she won second place at the 7th Gérardmer-Kichompré International String Competition in France. Du Qin-Lun is known for her deep interpretation and performance of both classical and modern French works. Throughout the years, she has performed in major cities across France, as well as in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Finland, Estonia, Spain, Poland, South Korea, and Japan.
